“Senior Health and Wellness Day"

Held at Senior Living Community

CHARLESTON, S.C. –Charleston-based nonprofit organization Humanities Foundation® sponsored a free “Senior Health and Wellness Day” on Saturday, June 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its newest affordable senior living housing community, Laurel Hill Apartments in Beaufort County. The event was open to the public and featured information and tours as well as tips for living healthy senior lifestyles. Free food and beverages were served alongside free screenings for blood pressure and diabetes, tips for healthy eating and staying active, in addition to giveaways and prizes. Guests even have a “cruise vacation” photo taken in front of the SS Laurel Hill.

Located at 1640 Ribaut Road in Port Royal, S.C. (near Beaufort), Laurel Hill is a new 72-unit apartment development for seniors ages 62 and over featuring one and two-bedroom units equipped with elevators, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, patio or balcony, ceiling fans and a washer/dryer hookup. One-bedroom apartments are 686 square feet are $495 per month and two-bedroom apartments are 902 square feet are $595 per month. Rent includes water, sewer, garbage pick-up and pest control.
