Debby Waid, Vice President
In her role as vice-president, Debby supervises the operations and projects of Humanities Foundation that support its mission. Prior to joining the organization, she was the director of clinical services and executive director for Crisis Ministries, an organization that provides comprehensive services for people who are homeless and hungry. She created a program for homeless veterans through the V.A. Medical Center in Charleston and previously worked in the field of mental health and substance abuse. Her community activities include serving as past chair of the Mayor's Council on Homelessness and Affordable Housing; past board president and current board member for the Continuum of Care Partnership of the Lowcountry; and as a member of the board of directors for Lowcountry AIDS Services, Inc.
Cheryl Ferraro, Controller
As controller, Cheryl Ferraro oversees the accounting functions at Humanities Foundation and James Doran Company. Cheryl is responsible for financial reporting and for managing all financial systems for the organization. Previously, she worked at the accounting firm of Hyland, Ruddy and Garbett. Cheryl is a member of South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Anna Hamilton, Services Coordinator
Anna started with Humanities Foundation in 2003 and manages the grant writing and case management for the organization. With a BS in Sociology from the College of Charleston, Anna is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work and is actively involved with the Continuum of Care Partnership of the Lowcountry and the Mayor's Council on Homelessness and Affordable Housing.
