Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

The purpose of this program is to help provide better access to healthier foods that will improve the quality-of-life and foster self-sufficiency for low to moderate income individuals. This agreement will outline the responsibilities and expectations of both organizations.

Objectives of the Marketplace Food Assistance Program:

  • Safely transport and deliver food related product to food insecure areas and deserts throughout South Carolina.

Humanities Foundation agrees to:

  • Provide dedicated drivers and delivery vehicles for the ongoing occurrence of services

  • Coordinate/conduct meetings as needed with partners to ensure that the program is still active

  • Provide training and the guidance needed to make sure that the program is a success

  • Complete all paperwork and reports required by the Low Country Food Bank, direct store partners and other

    government agencies to ensure that we stay in compliance with all requirements and regulations.

  • Deliver product in a timely manner on designated delivery days

As a partnership site, I understand and agree to:

  • Give 48-hour advance notice if a delivery location/site has changed or needs to be canceled.

  • Agrees to place a food order at least two (2) times within a twelve (12) month calendar year.

  • Agrees to accept all items in “as is” condition.

  • Provide volunteers; ensure they have registered online via unique registration link to be sent out prior to service day and completed the online Food Safety Training Module

  • Provide boxes and or bags for packing and assembly of product for clients.

  • Agrees to pay all handling and shared maintenance fee assessed for each delivery ($250.00 per truckload) in the form of:

    • CHECK or MONEY ORDER, made payable to: Humanities Foundation (Marketplace Food Assistance Program)

Termination

Humanities Foundation reserves the right to terminate this agreement immediately upon receipt of evidence that your agency has violated the terms and conditions of this agreement in any of the following ways:

  • Failure to schedule at least two (2) deliveries within a 12-month period

  • Failure to notify Program Director of cancelations or changes in delivery within 48 hours

  • Failure to keep your account current and in good standings

  • Failure to comply with the handling and shared maintenance fees set for your agency

  • Failure to distribute food and other product in a timely manner on the day of service

  • Include Humanities Foundation name and logo on all Marketing/advertising literature including, but not limited to digital outlets, flyers, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, newspapers, radio ads, and business/nonprofit websites
